Kick Butts Day at Muhlenberg High School 2010 Kick Butts Day
Muhlenberg High School BUSTED!/SADD club encouraged classmates to go smoke-free for the day. Mr. Butts was on hand to explain Kick Butts Day to fellow students, while fellow members also educated Muhlenberg Elementary
students using a program entitled, "Your Life: Up in Smoke."

Youth Advocacy Training at Reading High School Youth Advocacy Training
In February students from Reading High School, Muhlenberg High School, and the Council on Chemical Abuse's Earn and Learn Program were trained on how to communiate more effectively with their Legislators as well as the local media.

American Lung Association of the Mid-Atlantic, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry and the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO released a new economic study demonstrating that smoking costs the state economy more than $16 billion per year. The cost is equivalent to $23.77 per each $4.72 pack of cigarettes sold. A copy of the press release and study are available.
