Intervention

What is Intervention?

An intervention is a process of overcoming barriers, and getting across to the drug or alcohol abuser where they stand and what can be done to get help for substance abuse. A properly conducted intervention is exceptionally effective in helping someone accept treatment. This can be considered as the first part of the drug and alcohol treatment process.

An intervention process can be organized by any caring supporter or family member of the addict, however professionals and experts, who have experience in conducting such programs, can be a better judge of the individual's physical and psychological condition, and consequently, be more effective in dealing with the problem.

The Council provides a variety of intervention services in Berks County. For more information, visit any of the areas listed below.
