What is Tobacco Cessation?
Tobacco Cessation offers participants the information and resources necessary to stop tobacco use. The Council offers Tobacco Free Living seminars as a means of getting community members to consider quitting smoking. For information on tobacco cessation services, contact the Cessation Coordinator.
News update: Free four week Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) starter kits will be available on the PA Free Quitline at 1.800.QUIT.NOW beginning Monday, January 25 while supplies last. The starter kits will be available to callers who are willing to enroll in a tobacco cessation program with the Quitline and set a specific quit date. There is no cost for the phone support sessions (which can number from three to six sessions). NRT program participants will be mailed their four week starter kit once a quit date has been set (some time after the first session). Anyone receiving NRT must be free of any medical contraindications for the use. This determination is based on responses to several standard questions asked by Quitline representatives.
