Prevention 101 is a 2-day training which provides a catalyst for understanding how primary prevention of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATOD) is defined and implemented in Pennsylvania. Day 1 provides an overview of prevention and its evolution, as well as an introduction of skills, competencies, and data-driven decision making to understand the spectrum of prevention and the basics of the strategic prevention framework model. Day 2 expands on the basics provided and day 1 of the course by guiding participants through an in-depth presentation of the strategic prevention framework and applying it to a case study in the field. Training will include practice of skills through a fictitious case study.
