Berks County is confronted with a rapidly escalating public health crisis clearly linked to heroin and other opioid overdoses. The increased accessibility of these drugs has resulted in opioid overdoses emerging as a significant health concern in all communities throughout Berks County. The goal of this training is to decrease the number of opioid related overdose deaths.  Participants will receive instruction in the emergency administration of Naloxone, an “opioid antagonist” medication used to counter the effects of opioid overdose.

This workshop is required for individuals who serve in a traditional or nontraditional first responder role in educational or social service settings.
