Join us for a pizza lunch and find out how prevention education has come a long way from “Just Say No.” Research is now used to guide prevention strategies and programs, including data from the Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS), helps identify the risk and protective factors of our local youth. Learn ways to utilize limited time for prevention in the most effective way.
Jackie Steed is the Prevention Manager at the Council on Chemical Abuse, which serves all of Berks County in the areas of prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery services. Jackie earned her BA in Addiction Studies from Alvernia University and has worked in the field of prevention for 18 years. Her main focus is assisting school districts to implement effective prevention programs. She also teams with community organizations and coalitions to supply educational opportunities like current drugs trends presentations, parent workshops and summer playground programs.
