Recovery Messaging Training a Success!
Reading, PA – On Thursday evening January 16, 2014, approximately 20 individuals attended a Recovery Messaging training at the Alvernia University’s Upland Center presented by the Council on Chemical Abuse (COCA). The workshop was developed by the Faces and Voices of Recovery and is intended to share language that can be used to talk with the public and policymakers about recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. This messaging is a result of in-depth public opinion research with members of the recovery community and the general public.
The feedback from this event was overwhelmingly positive. Participants found the information presented in the training to be extremely useful and would recommend this workshop to others. COCA intends to present this workshop again in the future. Dates, times and locations of these future workshops will be announced on the recoveryandme.org website. The Recovery Messaging training is free and open to the general public.
