FORUM: The Science & Hope of Addressing Addiction

Science & Hope COVERSaturday, May 14, 2016
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.
Forum runs 8:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
School of Health Sciences at Reading Health System
1025 Old Wyomissing Road, Reading, PA 19611

Please join us for a morning to focused on the discussion of the drug epidemic affecting all the communities of the Reading – Berks County Area. The workshops are designed to understand the drugs, their addiction, how to intervene and what awaits a person following treatment. As the title implies, this forum will focus on two critical elements in addressing addiction. Scientific discoveries about the brain have revolutionized our understanding of addiction as a disease – a treatable disease. Further, it needs to be understood that intervention, treatment and recovery provide hope that the destruction caused by addiction can end and a new life can begin. On leaving this forum, family members, friends, and coworkers will have established a “road map” to getting help for the person consumed by addiction, as well for themselves.
