This course addresses the requirements for drug and alcohol screening and assessment of adults in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The required components of each tool, emergent care issues, screening options, level of case management determination, interviewing techniques and review of the DSM-5 Criteria for Substance Use Disorders will be covered.
This is a required training for drug and alcohol counselors and treatment providers. However, training is appropriate for any professional who works with clients with substance abuse and/or mental health concerns, or for staff from social service agencies including mental health, children and youth, adult and juvenile probation, domestic relations, and public assistance.
6.0 CAC credits will be offered for the workshop. A $20 training fee is required.
This training is sponsored by the Council on Chemical Abuse and the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs.
