A complex relationship exists between trauma and addiction. Substance abuse and dependence is one of the common co-occurring disorders for individuals suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.  Untreated trauma is a significant barrier to sobriety and long-term recovery.

 This training will assist human service and behavioral health professionals in:

  • Gaining a better understanding of the types of trauma
  • Understanding how the brain is impacted by trauma and substance abuse
  • Acquiring an understanding of treatment strategies for trauma and addiction

Training is appropriate for social service professionals or any other professional who works with clients with substance abuse and/or mental health concerns.

6.5 CAC Credits will be offered
6.5 Social Work Credits will be offered (additional $10 fee)
